How To Use
The Code8 Radiate Beauty Balm

Discover our step-by-step guide to BB cream application

Multifunctional products like the Code8 Radiate Beauty Balm are skincare-makeup hybrids, which can often make applying them slightly confusing. Do they go on before concealer? Straight after cleansing? It can be tricky to work out. Luckily we’ve created the ultimate BB cream application guide, so you can use our award-winning Radiate Beauty Balm and not only get a glowing complexion, but also maximise the antioxidant benefits of the formula’s Pectin and Argan Seed Oil.

Prep your skin

A BB cream is not the same as a tinted moisturiser, so be sure to still hydrate the dry areas of your face as normal. A beauty balm is actually a lightweight alternative for foundation, so it works best when applied to a clean complexion. Using the Radiate Beauty Balm on prepared skin means you can make the most of its revolutionary Knead Technology, which helps it to blend seamlessly into your natural skin tone for a subtle look. The formula also contains SPF 15 to help prevent harmful UVA/UVB rays and signs of ageing, so you can skip any additional sun care if you’re just going to be inside. Headed out? Apply your usual SPF after moisturiser but before the BB cream.

Select the right shade

Radiate Beauty Balm is available in 11 versatile and vegan-friendly shades. Not sure which one is right for you? Working out your undertone will help. A quick way to do this is to look at the jewellery you wear. If you look better in gold jewellery, you have warm undertones. If you look better in silver, then you have cool undertones, and if you can wear both, you have neutral undertones. After you have figured out your undertone, choose the number of Radiate Beauty Balm according to your complexion. Our lightest shade starts at 05 and the deepest is 90. Start in the centre of your face

Once you’ve found your colour match, squeeze a 20p piece-size amount of product onto the back of your hand. Then take a complexion brush, or your fingers, and start to spread the BB cream from the centre of your face outwards. This will help you to blend most of the product into your T-zone, the area most prone to blemishes and discolouration, while also helping to thin the product as you move outward. This means it will blend the BB cream seamlessly into your hairline for a very natural look.

Powder areas prone to oiliness

Radiate Beauty Balm dries fast and leaves a velvety-finish, so there’s no need to powder your whole face after applying it. If your skin is particularly oily though, you may wish to dust a setting powder like the Code8 Matte Velour Finishing Powder over the areas that become the most greasy. This final extra step will help to ensure the BB cream’s second-skin finish lasts all day.

Now you know how to use the Code8 Radiate Beauty Balm, all that’s left to do is pick your perfect shade and then you can start every day looking fresh and dewy. But don't just take our word for it. Harpers Bazaar UK say "if you’re after that luminous, just-had-a-facial effect, nothing comes closer than this under-the-radar gem", while The Independent called Radiate Beauty Balm 'a godsend for lazy beauty fans and anyone that wants to streamline your skincare routine.'
