Six make-up trends for Spring...

This week our Global Makeup Artist & Brand Trainer, Sasha Ghodstinat, talks us through her projected Makeup Trends for 2023.

"I love seeing re-emerging makeup trends from years gone by popping back up as we head into 2023, including bold red lips with fresh dewy skin and nude eyes, as well as soft smokey eyes with nude lips. For me, they are timeless looks that will never go out of fashion."

See Sasha's tips below on how to create these looks using Code8 Beauty products.

1. BLUSH UNDER FOUNDATION FOR A NATURAL LOOK

I would personally always use blusher on top of a base, but if you wanted to try this trend, you should definitely opt for a Cream Blush format. Try it with one of our 5secs Express Lip Cheek and Eyes which comes in 3 different shades. Apply on top of the apple of the cheeks, blending upwards. You can apply a little more than you usually would, then blend your base on top for a natural soft finish. If you want to create a natural blush look with a powder format, I would recommend you stick to applying on top of your foundation.

2. BOLD COLOURS ON EYES

This is a very easy and effective look to achieve. First, choose a bold colour (try our Iconoclast Eyeshadow Palette in Jaipur Marbles - you will find this palette has a beautiful selection to choose from). Thanks to Knead Technology, the shades are intensely pigmented and super easy to blend, allowing you to use your fingers and achieve a bold eye look in one sweep.

3. BLEACHED BROWS

This trend is certainly staging a come-back. However, instead of causing permanent damage to the brow hairs by using bleach, you can soften the look of your brows using a lighter colour brow pencil (try our Arch Realist Defining Brow Pencil) or powder to achieve this effect.

4. SHEER METALLIC LIDS

To achieve a sheer metallic finish on the eye, you can use any of the shimmery shades from the Iconoclast Eyeshadow Palettes. Wet a flat eyeshadow brush with water, and gently press onto the eyelid until you have created your desired look.

5. RED LIPS, VINYL EFFECT

Create your red vinyl lip with our Glazé Lip Lacquer in Gala. Layer up this product until you achieve your desired finish, from a more subtle lip tint to a high impact, 3D effect.

6. PLUM LIPS

Our Matte Velour lipstick in Lost in Translation is your new go-to deep plum shade, adding volume and depth to your lips. The ideal lip colour for Autumn/Winter 2023.
